Nothing in life is more impactful than the things that you experience in your childhood. One of those life changing events inspired our Broker & Owner of AMALIE INDUSTRIES, LLC, Amalie; better known as “MissBizz.” This was witnessing her single Guyanese mother lose her childhood home to foreclosure in the early 2000s. As soon as she turned the ripe age of adulthood, she obtained her NY real estate license and vowed to herself to help other homeowners in a similar situation.

Before the age of 21, Amalie earned and graduated Cum Laude with two Bachelors of the Arts degrees in Finance and Management Information Systems with a minor in Economics from Pace University. She moved back home from NYC her junior year, started selling real estate, and completed her undergraduate program between both campuses, Downtown NYC and Pleasantville, NY.

After college, she was selected to participate in a highly competitive one-year paid internship with Citigroup Financial and the New York State Housing Finance Agency. From developing financial models for municipal bond securities to reviewing offering plans for proposed tax-exempt multi-family housing projects in Manhattan, Amalie knew this was only the beginning of her career.

She moved on to become the Leasing Director for a private company in Pleasantville, NY, that specialized in office, industrial and warehouse spaces. She lost her job after almost one year due to her illness, lupus; which eventually led to kidney failure.

Completely devastated, she gathered all her strength to earn her Masters degree in Real Estate Development from New York University in 2010 while she was on dialysis. At the same time, she first obtained her NJ real estate license and completed all the education courses to become a Certified Residential Appraiser.

After 4 years, 4 months and 4 tries of waiting, she finally received her gift of a kidney transplant in December 2012. She named her kidney, Miles; as she would say, “it took me miles to get him and he’s gonna give me miles to go.”

Fast forward to 2022… Amalie has worked in many aspects of real estate including property management of shopping centers and HOA condo developments in NY, NJ and PA. Amalie’s real estate repertoire continues to grow with AMALIE INDUSTRIES, LLC, being one of the few exclusive Women-Owned, Minority-Owned and HUD Certified Brokerage, Property Management and Business Consulting firms in the Hudson Valley area that specializing in “Anything Real Estate” in New York and New Jersey.. That’s AI.
